Dear Andy and Dakota, Cousin Connie and to all her neices and nephews,
Isabel was a great lady and a great artist. I will always remember her intelligent conversations about art and her stores about her travels to Italy.
I remember that her work dying swan, created to protest the broken peace in the middle east, was itself almost damaged by a bombing by a terrorist group in the Federal building in the 1970s.
It was a silent protest against violence.
She was well known to artists working in glass who admired her simplicity of form. I met one of these young students at his first art show. He eyes shone when he described how Isabel influenced him. He told me that she was often discussed in his art class.
Sadly Isabel was too ill at the time to speak to his art class and share her wisdom.
I also remember the first time I saw her sculpture of George Washington gleaming in the sun as my train approached Alexandria Virginia.
I hope that her work can be collected and described in a book. So more people can know this extraordinary woman.
my grief is indeed deep,
love your cousin

Dear Andrew and Dakota,
Your mom was the GREATEST artist and the MOST talented in the family. She was second to NONE in the family. She had many distinguished accomplishments in the fields of glass work and sculpture. Although her achievements were many, she never felt the need to brag. This is certainly a testament to her greatness. I am proud to be the cousin of such a talented and intelligent person. May God grant her eternal rest and peace. My prayers are always with you and Dakota.

The MOST accomplished person especially in the art world by far in the family. It is a shame the time she was born into, because opportunities at that time were limited for women. She accomplished much in the field of glass pieces and scuplture but she never bragged about it .Most significantly accolades didn't come her way in the same way it came to others in the family and we have to examine that issue.

For Andrew and Dakota,
My heart goes out to both of you during this time. We only just met on the occasion of my Dad, Alexander Giampietro's passing in January. I was happy for that opportunity, as brief as it was. I know she was in very good hands during her stay with you. I was so happy to hear that she could be with you before she died.
What a woman she was! I saw my Aunt Isabel very infrequently in my life. One of the things that always impressed me was her beauty and fierce determination to "look good." She exuded the great artist that she was through her physical presence. The world will be a little less beautiful without her.
May God grant her Eternal Rest. God bless you and keep you both. Please consider our home in Litchfield CT as a place for you to stay should you ever find yourself traveling in this direction.
