My mom will dearly miss Del. I still have, and hang on our Christmas tree every year, the bride and groom duck egg decoration your Mom made for us for a wedding gift. That was 36 years ago, and has seen many homes in different states, but always think of your Mom when I hang it up each year.

My condolences come to you all for your loss- it is our loss too.
We were neighbors with Del for a time more than two decades ago in Riparius. She was very kind to us-no surprise.
My best memory was when my younger son, Zachary (he is 21) was born at home. Del brought dinner- her macaroni and cheese- that evening, accepting in return only a glimpse of our newborn son sleeping peacefully, which brought a smile to her lovely, gentle face.
She was a member of the community of beloved Elder women whom I have come to call my Neighbor Ladies. They are now all gone beyond with Del's passing. Each brought gifts of care: dinner, a quilt, cookies for my other children... and checked in on us at that time- it still means so much to me.
The other ladies were Hazel Smith, Gracie Stanley, and Lucy Ellifritz. Each brought different gifts and forms of care to me and my family at a wonderful time in my life. I will always remember those kindnesses.
I was lucky to know them all, and actually think of them all, Del included, often and feel grateful to have had that time with them.
I hope that my sharing adds another good memory to the many you all must have, as her family.
My heartfelt sympathy to you all at this time.
