Obituary of Nickie F. Woodard

Warrensburg: Nickie F. Woodard, 62, of River Road, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Glens Falls Hospital, following a long illness. Born August 11, 1953, in Ottumwa, Iowa, he was the son of the late Rosalie (Johnston) Tresslar and Robert F. Woodard. Nickie retired from the Unites States Submarine Service as a MMCS. He was employed by Wal Mart, where he was a Supervisor at the TLE for over 20 years. Nickie enjoyed his motorcycle, fishing, and vacations to Maine and Martha’s Vineyard. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Crystal Woodard of Warrensburg; his children he loved from a previous marriage, Amy Jo Woodard-Durbin and Nicholas Woodard; and six grandchildren. At Nickie’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral services scheduled. His family could not have asked for a better team of caregivers, a team that never gave up on him, and he didn’t either; oncologist, Dr. S. Medhi, his RN, Pattie, who kept him in good spirits, everyone on the 9th floor infusion, Palliative care, the receptionist, and his VA Advocate, Tess. He is now in God’s hands.
