Woody was my uncle and taught me a lot of the things as a child I use now as a man. He was patient when we went fishing and I would cast over his lines and tangle em over and over again and he would just fix it never complain. Eventually I got him into video games and we played them hours and hours on end. Once I was old enough to appreciate the family I have I visited yearly at least and he always made sure I was taken care of making the vacation one I looked forward to year after year. Great man god must've needed a soldier. RIP uncle woody me, Sara , and Aubrey will forever miss you
I have to say Woody was my 27 yr old brother-in law for many many years ! One of my fondest and best memory of him is when we sat on their porch in NY Woody brought out his guitar and we sang Mearle Haggard like we were pro's. Woody fought till the end and now he is in Gods hands in peace. To my sister Crystal you are in my prayers and thoughts . I pray for strength for you. Woody you are and will be sadly missed , love you both forever !!!!
I want to leave this for Woody after finding his tributes. I was a 17 year old kid in the Navy on board the GW Carver when I met Woody. I eventually joined his division as a Machinist Mate. We spent 6 patrols together over more then 3 years. Other then my Dad he was the greatest sailor I knew. I would see him one last time at the Subase power plant in the 1990’s before he retired. He was SB Duty Chief, I was an operator. I only wish I could have spent more time then. I hold him dearly inside.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Mrs. Woodard. I never knew Mr. Woodard, but I see that he retired from the Submarine Service. I too served in the Sub. Service. Thank you for standing by him during his service. I know it can be difficult to handle things at times while he was at sea. On behalf of the Albany-Saratoga Sub-Vets, we send our condolences. My sincere sympathy to the Woodard Family in the loss of their loved one. I worked with Nick many years ago at Walmart - He was always friendly and a hard worker. He will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
I am so sorry for your loss. In the bible we find hope and comfort. Jesus said in John 5:28 "the hour is coming in which all those in the graves will hear my voice and come out."
Very sorry for your lost Crystal.. Nick was a amazing man n a father figure n best friend to all of us. He will be missed n in my heart for ever. He helped me through so much n I'll always remember him for that...
