My family met Doris at Fort Hudson when they became roommates! Doris was a sweet and kind. She was a delight to chat with and she was fond of jelly donuts! Our Mom truly enjoyed her company. Doris was my Mom’s guardian. Whenever Mom fell or needed help, it was Doris who rounded up the troops for her…this happened many times. Our family was so grateful. I visited Doris several times after my Mom passed. Usually brought jelly donut holes and she’d smile! She always said to me, “I miss your Mom”. Rest in peace Doris…you earned it! Squeeze my Mom for me!

Jen and family,
My heartfelt condolences to you and your entire family.
I probably met her and didn’t know who she was whenever I was visiting my sister in Johnsburg. My brother in law Clarence and I would stop at the White Pine for coffee after a hunting or fishing trip.
I will try to see you & Dan when I get back in May.
God bless

I remember her when I was working up at Howard Johnson's as a waitress in Lake George, later on I found out she was my cousins grandmother, she was amazingly independent and strong, quite a role model.

Doris was my cousin, and my first employer as a baby sitter at 12 years old. We were close. Later, in high school she got me a summer job at Howard Johnson's. Doris was the hardest working person I ever saw. She was my friend too and I will miss her. Rest in peace Doris. Love you
