Obituary of Gerald R. Bruce

Please share a memory of Gerald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

WARRENSBURG: Gerald R. Bruce known to most as Jerry or JB, passed away in his home Wednesday, May 29, 2024 surrounded by loving family.

He was born September 22,1943 in Glens Falls, NY to the late Marcus & Cora (Kenyon) Bruce.

Jerry married his high school sweetheart Ruthellen Mundy in 1964.  They lived in Warrensburg and raised five children Matthew Christopher, Bethany Ayn, Adam Nathaniel, Tobias Michael & Patience Kerry.  The family lived near the Recreation field for years & you could bet that nearly every day you would see one or all of the Bruces there playing tennis, basketball, baseball, anything to stay busy.  The Bruce house was always open & Jerry had enough food on the stove for everyone.

Besides his parents, Jerry is predeceased by his older sister Sandra.

Jerry is survived by his wife, children and six grandchildren Nicholas Bruce-Hall, Christian & Cassondra Bruce, Mattelyn & Gavin Beadnell and Quincy Bruce; younger brother Robert Bruce and stepmother Edna Sullivan.

Jerry always told his family how much he loved them and that they were his greatest accomplishment.

His family would like to thank Kortni Morgan Tougas who took amazing care of him for the past year during his struggle with Lewy body dementia, as well as HHHN’s Homeward Bound Palliative Care & High Peaks Hospice.

Jerry did not want funeral services.  He wanted people to remember him & smile or have a drink in his honor – so cheers to Jerry, you were loved and will be missed by many.
