Mary L. Harris, 60, of Pucker Street, passed away peacefully following a brief illness on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the Stratton V.A. Medical Center.
Born May 12, 1949, in Fort Dodge, IA, she was the daughter of Dorine Nixon and the late, Noble Harris.
Mary enlisted in the United States Army in 1973 and served her country as a Sergeant and medic until her honorable discharge in 1976.
She resided in Warrensburg for seven years. Mary was a gentle soul, and had touched the lives of all that knew her.
Survivors include, her mother, Dorine Harris, brothers; Walter, Gordon, and Terry; sisters; Marilyn and Nancy; and her beloved dogs, Sabastian, Bandit and Velvet, whom she treated like her children.
Mary also leaves behind her dear friends, Edie Penrose, Sharon Stack, and Judie Pinkerton, along with many other friends.
At Mary’s request, there are no calling hours scheduled.
Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Livermore, IA.
