Colleen, Sunday, J, Russ, Dan and Eric:
One of the highlights of working summers in Warrensburg was being able to spend time with Jerry. I had tremendous respect and appreciation for his work and the way dealt with people. He always took the time to be sure his work was finished to a highest standard. In his dealings with campers and staff he had the right mix of being friendly while also expecting the best. He is greatly missed.
Please accept my condolences to you and your family.
Sincerely,
Jeff Cobb

Some of my earliest and most fond memories are of time spent at Uncle Jerry's.. Playing with Sunday, and J, tormenting my sweet Aunt Colleen, with the quiet, steadfast man of the house, usually watching in mild amusement as he read, or tinkered with something mechanical... Jerry unknowingly made great impressions upon me over the years as to how a husband, father, brother, and uncle is supposed to be... He Is greatly loved and missed...
Love and prayers, Ricky, Jo and family

Even tho' we didn't live near each other (as much as I held out hope we would someday),just knowing Jerry was out there was always comforting to me.
He was a loving father & grandfather, and always a supportive brother.
What I will remember most though, is the partner he was for Colleen - and the match she was to him. Nothing has been more inspiring to me than their relationship. Jerry & Colleen's marriage allows me to still believe in the idea of 'soulmates'.
Jerry was quiet and consistent strength. He will never know how much he meant to me, and I will miss him always.
Love,
Kim

Dear Colleen, Sunday and J,
My deepest sympathy is with you all. It is difficult to write this without crying because I know how much Jerry meant to Sunday.
While I never met Jerry, I feel I knew him through Sunday's photographs, stories about motorcycles, racing and time spent with family. His passing also makes me think of my Dad who died 15 years ago - his name was Gerry and he was much loved as well.
I just received a quote from one of our hospice Chaplains about grief and would like to share it with you:
"The process of leaving this world is an intensely soulful experience, one which will beckon us to look at how we have lived, who has been part of this journey with us, and how we have come to understand our role in the greater scheme of life. This is sacred ground that you are on. Seek every opportunity to encounter the Divine in giving and receiving love, in extending and accepting forgiveness, and in treasuring the moments you have with your loved ones."
I know that Jerry will be missed but I also know that you have wonderful memories. As long as those are with you, you'll have him forever.
My best to you all and love to Sunday,
Darsie

Collen,J and Sunday our deepest sympathy in this time of sorrow.
It was always comforting to have Jerry poke his head out of the door and inquire to what adventures J and I were currently involved in. It always seemed like he was watching out for us secretly. I am deeply sadened and and will be forever changed for knowing you father and husband. Thank you Jerry
