He was my grandmother Hilda Ava Corkland Ingraham's brother. He was my great uncle. He married my husband and I. I miss so much. I would like the opportunity to attend his burial so that may have the chance to say goodbye. Please email me at yishviy@aol.com or call me at 518-538-5918.

Jim Corkland, along with John Pickens, taught what was, when I took the class, a two-year class for juniors and seniors called World Literature with Historical Backgrounds. It alternated between Oriental literature and culture one year and European lit and culture the other. I used my notes from that class to help me out in my St. Lawrence University classes in World Religion and in my French theater classes for understanding all the plays that were based on Greek mythology. I believe I also occasionally used those notes as a reference for completing crossword puzzles. Somewhere along the line I lost track of that notebook (in the mere 46 years since high school graduation) and I have mourned that loss for years. It was just so dense in valuable information . I valued, too, the many opportunities that Mr. C gave us for creative writing. I wanted to come to calling hours, but had to get my 93-year-old Dad to a doctor's appointment and then go to school to vote to ensure that the HLCS budget was approved and that the kids would have 2 new school buses next year. I think your Dad would have approved. Thanks for sharing him with us. Barbara Brewer La Mere, HLCS Class of 1971

So sorry to hear about your father. We just lost Bill Floor (and my mother, as well). Found out about your dad when I checked Sunday's paper-they shared a page in the Post-Star obits. Hope you are both doing well.

To Jim.s family; Barbara and I were students of Jim while we attended High School in Lake Luzerne. We'll remember Jim, always dignified, a good listener as well as teacher, and a friend. We saw him many times since our gradation, and will remember him as a policeman in Lake George during the summers. Thank you Mr. Corkland for all you did for us during our schooling. Sincerely, Bob & Barbara Palmer

Beth and Jeff..... I am so sorry to learn of Jim's passing. I remember "Mr. Corkland" very fondly as my teacher at HLCS and then as a good friend thereafter. I will always remember his love for his family, service to others, his sense of humor and his smile. Another memory: one year when he signed my yearbook....no comment, just his signature. I asked him about it at the time and he said "you asked me to sign, I signed". I obviously never forgot that.....how funny ! Many other fond memories as well. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Mr Corkland was my teacher in school and a very good one at that. He led a very full life dedicating it to helping others all the time. He helped my son to see the light one time when he had to go in front of him where he was a judge! Thank you for that! He is fondly remembered by me. Condolences to his family, he was a great man.

My deepest sympathies to Judge Corklands family. I knew him professionally as a Judge while working fo the Warren County Sheriffs Dept. He was a a good judge, and also I would always see him on different types of accidents as a member of the LG FD. I would run into him off duty around the village when I would stop by several establishments for lunch or coffee.. He was a great person and well liked by all . It saddens me to hear of his passing but knowing him was definetly a great honor. Again, condolences to the family.
