Wevertown: George Moffitt, 62, of Moffitt Road, went to rest in God’s arms, Saturday, November 8, 2008. Born May 3, 1946 in Wevertown, he was the son of the late William and Beatrice (Washburn) Moffitt. George was a lifelong resident of Wevertown and worked as a logger before a debilitating illness. He enjoyed working on his families vehicles and spending time with his grandchildren. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, Herbert and Hollis Moffitt; and several other close family members. Survivors include his beloved wife of 37 years, Juanita DeeDee (McComsey) Moffitt of Wevertown; his two daughters, Amy (McComsey) Morehouse and her husband, Elmer, Roxanne (Moffitt) Johnston and her husband, Robert, all of Wevertown; two grandson, Kyle McComsey and Noah Moffitt and granddaughter, Alesha Johnston; his sister, Charlotte Springer of Wevertown; four brothers, Carson Moffitt of Glens Falls, Vincent Moffitt and his wife, Janet of Wevertown, Roger Moffitt and his wife, Linda of Wevertown, Lester Moffitt of Wevertown; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on George’s family from 5-7 pm Tuesday evening at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald Allen, Pastor of the Sodom Community Church officiating.
