Obituary of Gloria M. Bacon

Bakers Mills: Gloria M. Bacon, 37, of Old Bakers Mills Road, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at the Glens Falls Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack at her home. Born February 2, 1970 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Red Norton and Betty Decker. Gloria was a lifelong resident of the area. She married Donald L. Bacon on September 4, 1988 She was a loving and caring mother to her two children. Over the years, Gloria worked at Forest Lake Camp, cashier with various service stations and for the last two years she was the housekeeper at the Priory of St. Benedict in Chestertown. She loved spending time with her family, cooking, baking cookies, tending to her farm animals, and caring for her beloved dog, Lady. Besides her parents, her sister, Wanda Gail Morehouse has also predeceased her. Survivors besides her husband, Donald of 19 years, include her two precious children, Casaundra and Bradley; her siblings, John Morehouse and his wife, April , Doug Norton and his companion, Patti Steinman, Phil Morehouse and his companion, Martha Curtis, Melissa Wheeler, Bruce Morehouse, Robert Austin and his wife, Debbie, Debra T. Bacon and Deann Lawrence; her step-fathers, Elwin Austin and Merrill Decker; her mother in law, Carnata Dalaba and several neices and nephews. Friends may call on the Gloria’s family from 12-3 pm Saturday at the Sodom Community Church in Johnsburg. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 3 pm at the church with the Rev. Ron Allen, Pastor officiating. Burial will take place in the Bates Cemetery, Johnsburg.
