Elmer H. Bassett, 93, formerly of Bird Pond Rd., passed away Sunday, October 9, 2005 at the Adirondack Tri-County Health Care Center following a long illness. Born October 6, 1912 in the town of Duane, he was the son of the late Ira and Calla (Wilson) Bassett. Elmer married Laura G. Malark on June 13, 1942 in Constable. The couple lived on Bird Pond Road in North Creek since 1952. He worked for over 29 years with National Lead Corp. in Tahawus before retiring. Elmer and his family were communicant’s of St. James Catholic Church in North Creek and later attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Olmstedville. His favorite pastimes include …………………………………………………………… Besides her parents, his beloved wife, Laura died on May 25, 2004 after 62 years of marriage, his three brothers, Herbert, Harvey and Cecil Bassett, and his sister, Sabra Eaton have all predeceased him Survivors include, four children, Gerald Bassett and his wife, Maria, of Oriskany, Linda Lynn of Glens Falls, Annie Joy and her husband, Brad, of Brant Lake, and Dr. Calla Bassett and her husband, Dr. Robert Constantine, of Albany/Syracuse; 6 grandsons; 4 granddaughters; 6 great grandchildren; and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on the family from ……………………….at the Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 4479 State Route 28, North River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated …………………… at St. James Roman Catholic Church in North Creek with Father George Fleming, pastor, officiating.
