Ellen “Ellie” Martin, 78, of Alden Avenue, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a brief illness.
Born May 4, 1939 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Laurence and Leona (Westcott) Tracy.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Warrensburg Central School. She spent her childhood with her mother and step-father, Jim Reynolds, Sr., on their farm in Athol.
Ellie worked for Scotty’s Motel as a housekeeper for over 20 years, retiring in 2002.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved husband of 30 years, Albert Martin, Sr., her son, Albert Martin, Jr., siblings; David Reynolds, Tressa Reynolds and Nancy Westcott.
She is survived by her children, Bonnie Lee Prosser and her husband, Michael of Warrensburg, Bobby Martin of Burnet, TX; grandchildren, Ronald Prosser and his wife, Margaret of Hudson Falls, Amy Clark and her husband, Kevin of Warrensburg, Michael Prosser, Jr., and his fiancée, Tara DeSantis, Jade Morin of Mineville, and Julian Martin of Burnet, TX; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; her siblings, Laura Rafferty of Warrensburg, Marie Allison of Warrensburg, Sue Baker of Thurman, and Jim Reynolds, Jr. of Lake Luzerne. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call on Ellie’s family from 4 to 6 pm, Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 6 pm, at the funeral home with Rev. Nancy Barrow, Pastor of the Warrensburg Free Methodist Church, officiating.
Ellie's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Glens Falls Hospital ICU for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
