Obituary of Susan M. Potter

Chestertown Susan M. Potter, 48, of Friends Lake Rd., went into the arms of the Lord unexpectedly, Monday, December 11, 2006, at the Albany Medical Center. Born on March 18, 1958 in Plattsburg, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Ruth I. Lucia. She was a 1976 graduate of Schroon Lake Central School. Sue worked at North Warren Central School for many years, where she showed her love and dedication for children. She was having the time of her life with her new position as unit leader with her Party Lite business. She enjoyed traveling, horseback riding, quilting, casinos, cheerleading and spending quality time with all her family and friends. Besides her parents, her sister in law, Lu Ann Lucia; brother in law, John Potter and her nephew, Luke McClure have all predeceased her. Sue is survived by her husband of 26 years, Thomas Potter; her loving children, Jason and Tonya Potter of Chestertown; three sisters, Dale Craigie and her husband, Ron of Catskill, Trudy Maille and her husband, Mark of Lake Luzerne, Reba Johnson and her husband, Jeff of Colorado; her brothers George Lucia of Schenectady and Robert Lucia of Pennsylvania. Sue will be also be missed by her extended family on both the Potter and Lucia sides, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends may call on Susan’s family from 5-7 pm Thursday, December 14, 2006 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A memorial service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at 7 pm Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Flossie Gage-Bates, pastor of the Brant Lake Wesleyan Church officiating.
