I was blessed to see Joan recently at the Election Supper in Wevertown. We hadn't crossed paths in more than a year. We had a few minutes, shared a hug & memories especially about Outreach playgroup when my son Maceo & Joan's grandchildren, Lexi, Hannah & Connor played together with many other children and parents who loved this program, just one of Joan's many community services. The world is certainly left a better place for Joan's presence, dedication to family & friends & selfless service to those in need. Praying for peace and comfort to Lloyd and Joan's entire family as they experience this profound loss.

My sincere sympathy to all of Joan's family. I will never forget her kindness when my sister died. She came to my Mom's house and got all the food and the coffee ready while we were at the funeral. Then, she did a ton of dishes, all with a smile on her beautiful face. Her obituary said it best - a kind and caring woman. You have lost a beautiful soul.

Joan was always ready to promote community service...for all ages! She organized weekly play days when she wanted playmates for Dee. What good times we all had! Then she was the main impetus for the formation of Cheerful Cricket NurserySchool in January, 1975(I think?)...first in the United Methodist Church in North Creek, and then other locations. That group served many children for many years, until the Pre-K program began at JCS. Joan remained active on that board long after her children were grown. She served JCS many years, especially in the elementary library....always helping and knowing how to find the right books when needed. When she retired, she organized the monthly JCS Lunch Bunch, to keep the retired ladies/families connected. She will be missed immeasurably by all who knew her!
