Obituary of Delores C. Pioli

Chestertown: Delores C. Pioli, 74, of Friends Lake Road passed away peacefully at Adirondack Tri-County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 24, 1937 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence I. and Margaret (DeKrines) Campanella. She married her beloved husband, Eugene M. Pioli May 25, 1963. The couple spent 24 years together before Gene’s passing in 1987. The couple moved to Warrensburg in 1969, where they owned and operated Stoney’s Shake Bar for 6 years. Delores later converted the property into Stoney Acres Kennel in the mid 70’s which she operated until she sold the property to start up a new business, Delores Pioli bookkeeping out of her home. Delores was so dedicated to her clients, that she was motivated into extending her office into her hospital room while receiving treatment after she became ill. She enjoyed casino junkets with her friends and weekly nights out with “The Girls.” Delores had an abiding love for the Adirondack wildlife which she enjoyed every evening, tending to and watching them from the comfort of her home. She leaves behind a wide circle of friends whom she cared about deeply and who showed their love during her illness including her longtime neighbors, Don and Ingrid. She was particularly appreciative of the kindness extended to her by Dr. Brian Landenberger and his wife, Mary; Peg Cavanaugh and the staff at the Schroon River Animal Hospital. At Delores’ request there are no calling hours scheduled. Burial will be conducted privately in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.
