Obituary of Sophiannah Grace Virgil

Please share a memory of Sophiannah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Johnsburg: Sophiannah Grace Virgil passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving momma, Nicole (Ackley) Virgil on November 26, 2016 at home, surrounded by her father, Joshua Virgil, sister and godmother, Savannah Virgil, and grandparents, Jeff and Sheila Ackley and Dick and Suzy Virgil. Sophie was born September 8, 2016 in Albany. Delivered early via cesarean, due to complications recognized early on during pregnancy, she was diagnosed with severe semi-lobar holoprocensephaly, a rare brain disorder, and only given a 13% chance of surviving the birthing process. Sophie quickly proved her strength and left the medical professionals at Albany Medical Center in awe as she was breathing on her own with a healthy heart, and was released from the NICU on September 15th; she had already touched so many hearts and began her breathtakingly joyous journey with a large circle of those who loved her. For two and a half months Sophie has shown so much strength, endurance, and embedded every bit of love by her family and friends. In addition to her immediate family, she leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Friends may call on Sophie’s family from noon to 2 pm, Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg, NY. A funeral service to celebrate this beautiful angel’s life will immediately follow, with Rev. Ron Allen officiating. Sophie's family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Porter and the Journey Team at Albany Medical Center for the care and guidance they provided.
