Brian K. Smith, 32, of Maple Street, passed away early Saturday morning, October 4, 2008 at the Rutland Regional Medical Center due to complications from an assault late Friday night.
Born June 3, 1976 in Buffalo, he was the son of Laura (Millington) Armstrong of Hubbardton, VT and Brian K. Smith of Warrensburg, NY.
Brian was employed by B.J.’s Rubbish Removal of Rutland.
He was a gentle loving person whose smile could light up a room. His fun loving nature made him a hit with young and old alike. Children especially adored him. His patience with them was limitless. Whether shooting hoops with his nephews or teaching his younger nieces and nephews the fun of baseball or playing-go fish. He enjoyed fishing with his brothers and beating everyone in horseshoes. He was a joy to be around.
He will be sorely missed by his daughter, Amber; his mother, Laura Armstrong; his father, Brian Smith; his brothers, Dewey Corlew and his wife, Tammy of Hubbardton, VT, Dan Millington of Hubbardton, VT, Richard Millington and his wife, Nikki of Chestertown, NY; his sister, Penny Springer and her fiancé, Bruce Folsom of Rutland, VT; his Uncle John and Aunt Debbie Millington of Gloversville, NY; four nieces, four nephews and one great nephew and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call on Brian’s family from 12-2 pm Friday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg, NY
A service to celebrate his life will follow the visitation at 2 pm Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lee B. Call, Pastor of the Faith Baptist Church in Warrensburg officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in the Chester Rural Cemetery, Chestertown, NY.
