Dear Family & Friends, The death of Alex has been such a shock to all of us. It will be impossible to spend time on the beach without remembering all the wonderful times we've had. To Alex's family, we wish we could have met you under different circumstances, and now understand a little better how Alex became the man he was. We came to offer our condolences, and left feeling that you had comforted us. Thank-you, and know our prayers are with you all.

I was saddened – heartbroken - to hear of Alex’s passing. His generous nature, quick smile and ability make everyone around him feel welcome will be missed by all who knew him. He was the first to lead a hand to help, the first to get the neighbors together for a day on the beach, and be the one picking up afterwards making sure everything was ready for the “next time”. His love of the beach - the tanning season was well known – he was always the darkest – that Indian blood he would say with a sheepish grin. I know he would not want us to cry – but I’m crying. I know he would not want us to grieve for him – but I must. I know he is in a better place. I know he is looking after all of us now, waiting for our turn to join him. But I’m sure, like everyone else reading this, would have liked to have the joy of his company for more years than he was given. My heart goes out to his family and hope my words will lift just a bit of their sorrow and with it the knowledge that their brother Alex was loved. Every day for the rest of my life I will cherish the wonderful memories I have of Alex.

Alex touched us in ways that I hope now he knows. When visiting my best bud, Donna, over the years with my two kids -we quickly became familiar with several of her neighbors. On Chesapeake Bay, neighbors are also usually friends. Alex was my friend, and a friend to my children. He patiently took them out on his catamaran, and spent time just talking to them --- and me. I'm very sad today to learn of my friends passing. I hope now he has peace. I miss him already. Much love and prayers to his family.

A dear friend, a beautiful human being and one of the most generous people I have ever met.
Saying good-bye leaves a sad empty place in our hearts but our hearts are filled with beautiful memories. With those memories Alex will live forever.
I miss him dearly and send him much love. I pray that his new journey is filled with love, happiness and of course lots of friends and children.

I got the opportunity to spend time with Alex on days at "Donna's beach", St Patty's day celebrations, and other gatherings to celebrate the friendships we've made through the years. This past July we learned we're both from NY something I never knew before. He will be missed but thought of each and every time I step foot on Donna's beach...he will always be with us.
