Warrensburg:
Ronald H. Dingman, Sr., 71, of Route 418 passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Westmount Health Facility following a lengthy illness, with his loving wife and sons by his side.
Born May 9, 1942 in Warrensburg, he was the son of the late Hubert O. and Cora Beth (Stone) Dingman.
Ron was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Warrensburg Central School.
He enlisted in the United States Army in 1961, during the Vietnam Conflict, where he served his country before his honorable discharge in 1963.
Ron married his beloved wife of 39 years, Coleen D. Sprague on January 17, 1975 in Warrensburg.
The couple worked and cherished their firewood business together; Coleen would stack wood as fast as Ron could split, even while pregnant with their two children.
He worked independently as a logger for over 30 years, before becoming employed by Metso Paper USA, as a Millwright. Ron retired in 2003 after 14 years of dedication to the company.
He leaves behind his wife, Coleen Dingman of Warrensburg; three sons, Jeramy Dingman and his fiancée, Kati Curtis, of Thurman, Barron Dingman and his fiancée, Erin Baker, and their daughter, Callie May Dingman, all of Diamond Point, and Ronald H. Dingman, Jr. of Thurman; a daughter, Candy Dingman of SC; two sisters, Carol Rounds and her husband, Bill, and Linda Rounds and her husband, Gary, all of Warrensburg.
At Ron’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service scheduled.
Burial was conducted in Warrensburg Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Ron’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association of Northeastern New York, 4 Pine West Plaza #405, Albany, NY 12205.
