Obituary of Kimmie L. Monroe
South Glens Falls: Kimmie L. Monroe, 59 years old, passed away unexpectedly on December 31, 2024 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Kimmie was a longtime resident of Riverview House in South Glens Falls. She had a deep love for country music, the Animal Channel, detective shows, and, of course, any kind of desserts and breads. Kimmie was drawn to the warmth of the sun and always sought out its rays wherever she could find them. She cherished her visits to Moreau Lake, where she would happily dip her feet and hands in the sand and water. A true ‘girly girl,’ Kimmie adored having her hair and nails done, and selecting her own clothes. She also had a collection of eyeglasses, with multiple drawers filled with different styles and kinds.
In addition to her father, Robert Monroe, Kimmie was predeceased by her grandparents, as well as her brother, Toby Monroe, and her sister, Rodette Hemmy.
Kimmie is survived by her mother, Barbara Monroe; sisters Marilyn (David) McNutt, Kelly (Fred) Brice, Laura (John) Busse, Kathy (Corey) Greene, Melissa Monroe, and Jamie (Missy) Monroe; brothers Robert (Christy) Monroe and Travis Monroe; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is also deeply cherished by her longtime caregiver and friend, Vicki Strainer, who began caring for Kimmie back in 1993.
Donations in Kimmie’s memory may be made to: AIMS Services, Riverview House, 15 Professional Way, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.
