Obituary of Michael A. Kelly
WARRENSBURG: Michael A. “Mike” Kelly, 74 years old, passed away on November 3, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Mike was born on February 7, 1950, in Kingston, NY, to the late Patrick and Anne (McCormick) Kelly. He took great pride in graduating from Marist College, where he earned a degree in teaching. After graduation, Mike spent a few years teaching before moving to Warrensburg, where he accepted a position as the business manager for Warrensburg Central School. He dedicated over 40 years to this role, serving the school community with commitment until his retirement in 2006.
After moving to Warrensburg, Mike met Kathleen “Kathi” Reynolds on a blind date, sparking a love that led to their marriage on June 24, 1976. They shared a wonderful life together until her passing in 2023. Mike was an active member of the local Lions Club, where he was proud to hold the title of "King Lion" one year. Mike took great pride in his involvement with Hickory Hill Ski Club, where he dedicated countless hours to supporting the club and fostering a love of skiing in the community. In his free time, Mike enjoyed fishing, attending church, and savoring his leisure time.
Besides his parents, Mike is predeceased by his wife Kathleen “Kathi” Kelly, son Joseph Kelly and sister Kathleen Kelly.
Mike is survived by his beloved daughter, Brigid Kim, and his cherished granddaughters, Emily, Sarah, and Rachel Kim, as well as Callandra Jacobson and her parents Joyce (Ernie) Hunt. He is also remembered by his sister, Patricia Kelly; sisters-in-law Jacklyn (Dave) West, Heidi Reynolds, and Karen Reynolds; brother-in-law Rexford "Rusty" Reynolds; and many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family offers heartfelt gratitude to Lisette (Antonio Villegas) Rocha, Heather Braley, and her children for the unwavering dedication, care, and compassion they showed to Mike.

Friends are invited to pay their respects to Mike’s family on Monday, November 11, 2024, from 10am – 11am at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, 3802 Main Street, Warrensburg. A funeral mass will begin at 11am. Following the service, burial will take place at Reynold Cemetery, South Johnsburg Road, Thurman.
