Obituary of Frances Rose Poltanis

Stony Creek:

Frances Rose Poltanis of Stony Creek, passed away on September 28, 2024 at the age of 87. 

Born May 22, 1937 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late George S. and Rose Dorner, the middle of three children: brothers George L. and Steven. 

She married Louis D. Poltanis, the love of her life in July 1974 and resided in Huntington, Long Island before moving to Stony Creek in 1994. The couple enjoyed 50 blissful years together until his passing on April 12, 2024. 

Frances is survived by her sister-in-law Dotty Dorner (George L. deceased); her nephew Douglas Dorner and his wife Nancy, their children Cassandra and Christopher; nephew Thomas Bradshaw and his wife Margaret, grandnephew Brian Bradshaw and his wife Brandi, their children Braden and Blake; grand niece Michelle Kostick and her husband Steven, their children Katherine and Kristopher.

She was a dedicated member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Warrensburg, New York and attended Sacred Heart Church in Lake George.

Friends may call on Frances’s family from 4 to 7 pm, Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am, Wednesday, at Sacred Heart RC Church, 50 Mohican St., Lake George with Fr. Joseph Busch, officiating.

Rite of Committal will follow in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Warrensburg.
