Obituary of Bill Arnold

THURMAN:  William Harold Arnold II, 41 of Thurman, NY passed away surrounded by his loving family on December 25, 2023. 

Bill Arnold was born on February 4, 1982, in Glens Falls, NY, to William and Lisa (Cameron) Arnold.  He attended Warrensburg Central School, graduating in 2001.  Bill spent his entire life in Thurman and began working for the Town of Thurman immediately after high school, eventually earning the esteemed title of Deputy Superintendent of Highways.

It was during his high school years that Bill crossed paths with the love of his life, Amber Myers, while attending BOCES together.  Their connection blossomed, and Bill and Amber have shared 23 wonderful years together, culminating in their marriage on September 16, 2022.

Bill had a passion for working with vehicles and anything powered by a motor.  His sizable sense of humor was a constant source of joy for those around him.  Hunting expeditions with his brothers created cherished memories, and camping adventures held a special place in his heart.  From sunrise to sunset, Bill could be found on his phone, reaching out to family and friends, reflecting his deep connection with his loved ones.

Bill possessed an innate ability to strike up conversations with anyone he met-an unmistakable trait of his extroverted and friendly nature.  Yet, amidst his wide circle of friends, Bill found the most joy in spending time with his family, with a special emphasis on his son, who held the title of his best friend.  The moments shared with loved ones were, without a doubt, the highlight of Bill’s life.

Meeting Bill in heaven are his grandparents William and Joan Cameron, Joe and Betty Arnold and his childhood best friend John Smith.

Surviving him with cherished memories are his parents, William and Lisa Arnold of Thurman, along with his beloved wife, Amber Arnold, and their son, William H. Arnold III, all residing in Thurman, NY.  Additionally, he is mourned by his sister, Ashley (Justin) Tyrell of Adirondack, NY, and brothers Bradley Arnold of Brant Lake, NY, Adam (Rachel) Arnold of Thurman, NY, and Jesse (Kayla) Arnold of Warrensburg, NY. His circle of family extends to his mother and father-in-law, Terry and Bill Manney of Queensbury, NY, brother-in-law Brian Manney; nieces and nephews including Kaden, Kyla, and Kurt Arnold; Brent, Bailey, and Ben Ackley; Royce and Jessi Arnold: and Adam and Aiden Arnold and his partner in crime, Clyde, Bill’s dog.  Among those remembering him are also his Uncle Bill Cameron, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Acknowledging his special bond, a heartfelt mention is made of family friend, Pat Wood.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
