Denis Morin, age 75, passed on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, peacefully in his home in Athol, NY.

Denis was born on September 30, 1948, in St. Ludger, Quebec to the late Paul Emile and Florence Morin.

He grew up in Lac Megantic, Quebec and was the oldest son of 11 children. He immigrated to the United States in 1967 and resided in Connecticut where he was a respected roofing and siding contractor through most of this life, working on many homes in the tri-state area.

He married his wife Johanna in 1982 and moved from Brookfield, CT to New York to retire in 2013. Denis was a devoted Christian, caring father, and loving husband. He had a passion for bowling, fishing, hunting, and playing pool. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Danbury, CT from the early 70’s.

Denis is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Emile and Florence, and his siblings, Marcel, Julian, and Daniel.

He is survived by his loving wife Johanna; his children, Paul Morin (Stephanie), Renee Prather, Dominique Tescione (Marc), Marc Morin (Stefany); step-son James Prybylski (Michelle); grandchildren Jesse Morin, Abigail Morin, Tyler and Haley Tescione, Delaney and Sean Prather; great-granddaughter Avery Morin; siblings Gisele (Fernand Boulanger), Bernadin (Mariette Couture), Benoit (Lucie Cote), Julienne (Clermont Rosa), Huguette, Carmen (Gaetan Roy), and Francine (Rene Boule), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude or the Christian Appalachian Project.

At Denis's request, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.
