Obituary of Debra L. Ford

Please share a memory of Debra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

WARRENSBURG: Debra L. (Provoncha) Ford, passed away on October 20, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer.

Born November 5, 1957 to the late Paul and Fran (DeZalia) Provoncha, Debra was the first of four children that they raised in Schroon Lake.  She spent her childhood growing up in Schroon Lake, with her many cousins and where she attended school and met her future husband, without knowing it.  After Deb graduated from Schroon Lake in 1975, she attended Morrisonville College and spent summers waiting tables, which she did many times throughout her life.

Debra married Denis Ford on July 12, 1980. After they were married Denis and Deb moved to Warrensburg where they made many lifetime friends and memories. Deb worked for Continental Insurance Company and Warren Ford before taking a job at Warrensburg Elementary School, where she retired from after 15 years.  During summer breaks she taught her children, and their friends, how to have proper beach days. At night she waited tables where she continued to make more friends and memories. Deb continued to still talk about that time in her life to this day.

Deb and Denis loved to travel together whether it be a few states away or just out for a drive, which they enjoyed more and more during retirement.  During the summer you could usually find her walking, on the beach with a good book or just enjoying the nice weather on her deck with a cocktail.  Her greatest joy, however, was being a grandma.

Deb was predeceased by her father Paul D. Provoncha and brother Paul R. Provoncha.

Left to smile at her memory are her husband of 43 years Denis, her son Andrew, daughter Jessie and her husband Christopher Decker all from Warrensburg, mom Fran Provoncha of Schroon Lake, sisters, Mary (Steve) Neander of Schroon Lake and Jennifer (Eddie) McManus of New York City, sister-in-law Heather Provoncha and her son Paul Niles, her two grandchildren, Charlotte and Elliot Decker along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.  Deb was lucky to have many, many close friends that will also miss her terribly.

Special thanks to Elderwood in North Creek and Glens Falls Hospital’s ICU team.

There will be no calling hours or services. All are invited to join in a Celebration of Life on November 5, 2023, Deb’s birthday, at The Bond 1786, 3 Hudson Street, Warrensburg from 3pm-6pm.
