Please share a memory of Kathleen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

WARRENSBURG: Kathleen “Kathi” (Reynolds) Kelly, aged 67, peacefully departed on October 16, 2023, in Albany, NY, surrounded by her cherished daughter and her children after a brief, courageous battle with cancer.

Kathi came into the world on November 20, 1955, in Glens Falls, NY, born to the late Rexford and Jean (Burdick) Reynolds.  She was a dedicated graduate of Warrensburg Central School in 1973, and during her high school years, she excelled as a cheerleader and was actively involved with Eastern Star, an organization she continued to support throughout her life.  Kathi’s educational journey led her to Skidmore College, where she earned her Education Degree.  She then pursued further studies at SUNY Plattsburgh and Albany, culminating in the achievement of her Master’s Degree.

Kathi united in matrimony with the love of her life, Michael Kelly, on June 24, 1976.  For more than two decades, she dedicated herself as an accomplished accelerated high school math teacher at Warrensburg High School.  In addition to her role as an educator, she shared her passion for music as a piano teacher, guiding and inspiring her students.  Kathi also took on the responsibility of being a tutor and chaperone for numerous dances and sporting events.

Outside of her professional commitments, Kathi found joy in various pastimes, including playing bingo, knitting, and enchanting those around with her piano playing.  She had a zest for travel, exploring destinations such as Hawaii, New Orleans, Florida, Arizona, and Montreal.  Yet, her true contentment lay in tending to her home and, above all, in the precious moments spent with her beloved daughter, husband, and granddaughters.

Besides her parents, Kathi is predeceased by her son Joseph Kelly and brother Arthur Reynolds.

Surviving to honor and hold dear her memory are her devoted husband, Michael Kelly; her cherished daughter Brigid Kim; her granddaughters Emily, Sarah, and Rachel Kim, as well as Callandra Jacobson and her parents Joyce (Ernie) Hunt. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters Jacklyn (Dave) West and her twin sister, Heidi Curran; brother Rexford (Rusty) Reynolds; her sister-in-law’s Patricia Kelly and Karen Reynolds, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever carry her in their hearts.

In memory of Kathi, contributions can be made to the Albany Med Foundation, located at 43 New Scotland Ave., MC-119, Albany, NY 12208, or online at engage.amc.edu.  When making your donation, kindly specify “Kathleen Kelly” in the memo section of the check to ensure it is properly attributed.

Friends are invited to pay their respects to Kathi’s family on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 10am – 11am at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, 3802 Main Street, Warrensburg.  A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 11am, led by the Very Reverend Joseph Busch.  Following the service, Rite of Commital will take place at Reynold Cemetery, South Johnsburg Road., Thurman.
