Obituary of Ian K. Bentley

JOHNSBURG: After a long illness, Ian “Kelly” Bentley, 57, went home to the lord on August 22, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Kelly came into this world on December 21, 1965, in Glens Falls, NY.  He is the son of the late Dorothy and Lawrance Bentley.

Kelly was raised and grew up in Warrensburg where he loved to hunt and fish. Although, his favorite time was spent with his daughters. In January of 1990 he married Heidi Monroe (Bradway) of Warrensburg then had their three girls between 1989 and 1995.

Kelly was known throughout the area working in various jobs, including Hometown Oil for many years as well as Jacob and Tony’s, Blue Water Manor, Brew N Stew, Potters Diner, Paul Walters, and Ames Goldsmith.

Besides his parents, Kelly is predeceased by his sister Mary.

Kelly is survived by his daughters Megan Hitchcock and her husband Blain of Johnsburg, Lauren Carson and her husband Jason of Warrensburg, and Jessica Tucker and her husband Mikle; grandchildren J’Lynn Bentley, Lacy Tucker, Mikle Tucker Jr., Duane Tucker, Juleeyn Carson and Rylee Carson; brothers Joe and his wife Kathy of Johnsburg, Barry and his wife Rosie of Warrensburg; sisters Sharon of Johnsburg and Linda of North Creek as well as several nieces and nephews.

Per Kelly’s request, there will not be any calling hours or service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
