I have lost a good friend of many years. Paula and I first met about 30 years ago on eBay. I bought a few paperweights from her when she and John lived in Florida. We talked many times about people, collectors, etc. She was a warm and caring person. She moved to New York to be closer to her daughter. Then John developed cancer and we would talk and I woulld try to raise her spirits and it helped, She loved being close to her daughter and had her little dog, Charlie and then moved on with life. She would help anyone in need and had a wit about her that would light up a room. When we talked on the phone, it was like talking to a young girl. ln 2015 we went up to New York to visit her and had a nice time with her and Kathe. The other high point was to reconnect with her first born son. She was a strong woman and got through many hardships in life but still enjoyed life to the fullest. Will miss you Paula... Till we meet again......

It would be difficult to fully explain in a paragraph, or two, the ramifications of one person's decision that changed both of our lives and set a path for our futures. You see, Paula....mom, is my birth mother. As a mother, she made one of the most difficult decisions that any mother could possibly face. You gave me up for adoption at birth.
Little did she know that that heart retching decision was certainly guided by the Lord's hand. She placed me in a home where I could thrive, flourish and grow into the person I am today. In hindsight she couldn't have done a better job in selecting her replacement mother.
About 5 years ago I sought her out and we reconnected. To both of our delight we have met, compared notes and agreed her early decision was the right decision. Though we didn't have many years together, they were meaningful for both of us. Part of the discovery was the joy to find out that I have a sister.....Kathe
Be blessed in Heaven and Thanks from the bottom of my heart for making the best choice for you and me in 1949.
Love, your son ....... Phil
