Obituary of Jeffrey L. Whiting

POTTERSVILLE: Jeffrey L. Whiting Jr., 44, of Pottersville, NY, son of Jeffrey Whiting Sr. and Margaret Gates, passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 20, 2023.

Jeff was born on December 15, 1978 in Glens Falls, NY.  He grew up in the northern towns of Warren County, terrorizing his four sisters.  Jeff has been employed by NEPCO for over 20 years. 

When not working Jeff was a portrait painter, enjoyed working on cars , he especially loved his 1967 Buick Skylark, fishing throughout the Adirondacks, hunting with his son, starting off his day with a cup of Folgers coffee, and playing the lottery. He recently had a dream he won 60 million dollars. Jeff so loved his grandchildren, he was over the moon when visiting and watching them play.  Jeff’s best day was when he found out he was going to be a father, finding out was made even better because it was on Father’s Day.

Jeff is preceded in death by grandparents Frank and Lillian Gates and Roger Whiting and Janelle Hitchcock; aunts Connie Stewart and Virginia Remington; nephews Carl Bills III and John Bills; his beloved dog Harley.

Besides his parents, Jeff is survived by his son Jeffrey (fiancé Debra Bent) Whiting III; his first love and longtime friend Valerie Whiting; sisters Nichole Whiting, Jamie (Boyd) Wells, Julie (Richie) Montanez and Gina (Significant Other Nicholas Stanton) Allen; Valerie's father and mother  Robin and Linda Wilcox; brother-in-laws Timmy Wilcox, Dan WIlcox and Robin Wilcox; step-father, Jack Quinette; granddaughters Kaitlyn and Paisley Whiting; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Jeff’s family from 5pm – 6pm, Monday, March 27, 2023, at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A Memorial Service will take place at 6pm.
