Sincere condolences would not be complete without honoring the outstanding service and contributions that Marilyn offered to her students, colleagues and the Bolton Central School community. It was a privilege to work with her and I am sure that a speak for all of us who shared our time at BCS with her when I say that we sincerely miss her and will honor her memory and the legacy that she created. Teachers touch many souls and that was certainly true as we remember her.

I was heartbroken to hear of Mrs. DeHoney's passing. I was privileged to be one of her students at Bolton and she was my favorite English teacher. I was not always an easy student for her as I was incredibly stubborn and didn't like criticism. But, she always continued to cheer me on and encourage me regardless. She was so kind and incredibly patient. She was the reason I was able to pursue my writing and have my poetry published internationally. I recently found notes of hers written to me on some of my old school work from her class and I will cherish those and the memories I have of her. I pray for peace for her family and friends during this time of sorrow. Please know that she will be greatly missed and remembered always.
