Fort Edward: Grace D. Packard, 74, of Fort Edward NY passed away on Friday February 4th, 2022, at Glens Falls hospital. Grace was a native of Ridgefield New Jersey. She was born on November 29th, 1947, at Englewood Hospital in Englewood New Jersey to the late Margaret and Raymond Andrews. She is predeceased by her husband Alan Packard and twin brothers Robert and Richard Andrews. Grace is survived by her daughter Breeana Gillett of Rochester NY, husband Brent Gillett and their three children, Mia, Maddox and Riley. Her son Joseph Packard of South Glens Falls, fiancé James Summers of South Glens Falls, sister Karen Stevenson of Queensbury and many nieces and nephews. Grace attended high school in Ridgefield New Jersey. She met her late husband Alan and upon getting married they moved to the Adirondacks to build a home of their own and start a family. Grace attended Adirondack community college and received an associates degree. She was a dedicated stay at home mom until her husband passed away. She then became the business manager of Haanen Packard Machinery and Haanen Engineering where she worked for over 20 years before retiring. Grace had a passion for gardening and took classes to become a master gardener. She loved birds and collected birdhouses to place around her property. She was active in the community, was a literacy volunteer and enjoyed helping the Toys for Tots program each year. She was a member of the Wacky Women’s Club. She looked forward to traveling and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Friends may call on Grace’s family from 1 pm to 3 pm on Friday February 11th, 2022, at Alexander Baker funeral home.
