Condolences to the Webster Family...Mr. Webster was always available to take us Tom, Billy & myself to Padre games especially when they were a Triple A playing at Westgate Park. I always remember him having a pocket protector with his pencils & pens. One time he was telling us he use to earn extra money playing billiards so Tom & I asked him to prove it so three of us went over to billiard room at the bowling alley checked out a table & sure enough Dr. Webster cleared the table. He was a very impressive man...no topic was off limits. He always made me feel welcomed in his company. A kind man driving in his VW bus taking the family wherever they needed to go!!! RIP Dr. Webster you deserve it!!!!!

I just read of John’s death in the most recent issue of the U of Iowa alumni magazine. My recollection is that we met through the Adirondack Mountain Club, and I regret I never got to know him well. We had a peculiar connection. I am from Iowa City, and both of us graduated from the University of Iowa. While he was in grad school, he lived in a trailer parked on the grounds of the house where I grew up and had once belonged to my grandmother. We also both knew one of his favorite professors, Himie Voxman. From talking with John, I knew some things about his eventful life, but I find the details in the obituary amazing. The world needs more people like him.

Mrs. Webster, I am very sorry for your loss. You and Mr. Webster gave my family permission to hunt on your property and I always enjoyed visiting and bringing venison and turkey to you both. May he rest in peace.

I loved to hear all the stories you had about the navy. It’s crazy how god can bring two people together. You made the equipment and I got to use it. You were so happy to find out they were still using your invention
