Leonard G. Cowles, 85, passed away peacefully Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021 at Elderwood Nursing Home in North Creek.
Born July 6, 1936 in Mattawan, Canada. He was the son of the late Charles and Dora (Smith) Cowles. He is also predeceased by his brother, Clifford, whom he was very close to.
He graduated from Minerva High School and worked alongside his brother at Great Eastern Lumber Co. in North Creek, working parttime with ENCON cutting trails and fighting forest fires.
They both enjoyed hunting, collecting deer rifles and just having a good time.
He is survived by close friends, Rodney and Lorretta Galusha.
A graveside service will take place in the Union Cemetery, North Creek in the spring.
