Obituary of William C. Smith

Olmstedville:
William C. Smith, 48, of Morse Memorial Highway, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015, at his home.
Born June 3, 1967 in Glens Falls, he was the son of William and Beverly (Saville) West of Olmstedville.
Will was a lifelong resident of the area. Following his 1983 graduation from Johnsburg Central School, he worked for Barbco Drilling in Cambridge, where he was employed for several years before enlisting into the United States Marine Corps as a small arms repair specialist.
Shortly following his honorable discharge in 1994, he began working with the Minerva Central School, where he remained for 20 years and eventually became the head custodian.
Will was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed many hunting and fishing adventures.
Besides spending time with his family and friends, he enjoyed barbequing and baking for his family; he will be remembered for his exquisite cooking and baking skills.
In addition to his parents, Will leaves to cherish his memory, his siblings, Ken Smith and his wife, Rhea of Minerva, Karen TenEyck of Olmstedville, and Michael Smith and his wife, Lori of North Creek; his step-brothers, Billy and Robert West; step-sisters, Michelle, Kerri, and Valerie; as well as his beloved four legged feline friends, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At Will’s request, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.
Close family and friends are invited to a gathering at Will’s home from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, July 16, 2015. Please feel free to bring a dish as well as a memory to share.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a random act of kindness in Will’s memory.
