Obituary of Vincent A. Frisbie

Warrensburg:
Vincent A. Frisbie, 74 of Gold St, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Slate Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation surrounded by his loving family.
Born November 21, 1943 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Tennyson) Frisbie. He was a life long resident of the area and graduated from Warrensburg Central School. Following his graduation, he was a Sargent in the United States Army, proudly serving his country until his honorable discharge in May of 1967.
He married Connie Dingman on July 20, 1980 and they were happily married until her passing in July 1989. He then married Riika Castner on March 21, 1998 and they were happily married until her passing in April 2008.
Vince worked numerous logging jobs before he began his employment with Riverside Gas & Oil until he moved to Rounds Paving and then finally to Hometown Oil where he worked until his retirement in 2014. He worked diligently for 40 years as a truck driver and kept nearly every home in Warrensburg, Chestertown, Bolton, and Lake George warm 24 hours a day.
He was a well-known face about town and who always had time to share a smile, a story or a good laugh with his many friends, and was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever someone needed help.
Besides spending time with his family and friends, he enjoyed watching NASCAR and eating Cheez Doodles. He also enjoyed his Sunday paper crossword puzzles, as well as jigsaw puzzles.
Besides his parents, Vinnie is predeceased by his sister Sandra (Frisbie) Roberts, and his beloved wives, Connie and Riika.
He is survived by his children; Catrina(Ken) Hopkins of North Creek, Sandy (William) VanGuilder of Queensbury, and step children, Edward Bennett of Warrensburg, Michelle Bennett of Corinth, Richard (Michelle) Roethke of Glens Falls, Kim (Tim) Bennett of Glens Falls, Cindy Bowman of Ticonderoga, as well as numerous grandchildren (with another due in February), great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call on Vince’s family from 5-7pm Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 10am Thursday, with Sister Linda Hogan officiating. Burial will follow at Brant Lake Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer society.
