Richard J. Conforth, of Mountain Road, Athol, NY, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Glens Falls Hospital in Glens Falls, NY.
Born in Paterson, he was the son of the late Sam and Nellie Conforth.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Richard was a native of Paterson, where he worked in his business, Silk City Scrap for most of his life.
His hobbies included cooking, horse racing, and handicapping horses. Richard also loved collecting antiques, especially cookie jars.
Richard is predeceased by his daughter, Laura Jean Conforth.
He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Loretta Ferraro Conforth, of Athol, NY; his daughter, Cathy Mannuci and her husband, Joe of Athol, NY; son: Kenneth Conforth and his wife, Elaine of Wayne. Four grandchildren: Joseph and Stephanie Mannuci of Athol, NY; Alexandria and Samantha Conforth of Wayne.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Friday at the Laurel Grove Memorial Park in Totowa. At Richard’s request, there are no public calling hours scheduled.
