I met Doug when I moved to NY about 14 years ago. I got to know Doug hanging out in his hardware store asking him about coins. I just started to collect and eventually joined a coin club he was in. I would bring Doug his favorite soup and meatballs from Olive Garden as a way to say thank you for teaching me all I knew about collecting coins. I eventually worked on his property and got to know his wife and their dogs. I was only in my mid 20s when I got to know Doug and looked up to him as a mentor and someone I could talk to about anything. I am truly saddened by their loss and they will always hold a special place in my heart.

Gone but never forgotten, Nickel Doug as I jokingly called him was a fun guy, he and I shared many laughs through the years, and Gail was always upbeat and a huge help in their business ventures. We will miss them both. Rest Now In Peace Friends. Hairy & Belinda Hull

Doug was My boss at my first job at Clark's/Cook's Dept. Store in high school along with several others. He was always fair and made work fun. I have seen him and Gail weekly (for the past 15 yrs) at my current job. I will so miss seeing him and Gail both. He always had some comment to me being funny and will miss that. Saddened that they are no longer here.
