I just returned to Glens Falls last August but grew up in HudsonFalls , HS Class of 1968. Went to Cambridge, NY to be a LPN. Then went to ACC to be a RN. I was so happy to see Chris’s familiar face when I walked into my first nursing class. Spring break , I was going to Colorado to ski with my brother , Mike. Then he broke his leg skiing at West Mountain. Chris decided I still needed to go to Colorado but first take him to visit his girlfriend in Chicago!! What a trip , the first and last time I drove in Chicago. Chris and I stayed close until we graduated from ACC . I packed my bags after working at GFHospital and left for Florida . I am so sad , hearing about his passing , but my memories will always be of Chris’s kindness , being laid back , being positive, and his laughter under that big mustache ! Love you , Chris , Sincerely , Shelly Quarters Whiteman

I am so sorry for your loss. I just saw the information and wish I could have made the service. Chris was a great person and PA and although we did not have a lot of contact over the years, I will always remember our time as classmates in the PA Program. Again my deepest sympathies.

I have many fun-filled memories of my time with Chris at Syracuse University in the late 60's and then afterward from time to time as our paths crossed. Chris' sense of humor and his joy were infectious. My condolences to Charlie and the rest of Chris' family and friends.

I have known Chris since I joined Hudson Headwaters Health network in 1981, after working with his older brother Jack in the Glens Falls Hospital emergency room the previous year. Chris was one of the first providers I worked with when I started my career at the Warrensburg health center. Chris’s unique combination of humor, compassion, Wisdom, and enthusiasm made him a pleasure to work with and I learned as much from him as he did from me during those early years. He and I also were the first HHHN providers to begin taking care of our patients in Glens Falls Hospital, and I enjoyed every minute I worked with him. I admired his joie de vivre and never tired of hearing about his latest cross-country bike adventure. He was always speaking highly of his brothers, parents and his wife Charlene. He crammed more living into his 67 years than most 90-year-olds! I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Charlene, Jack, Dan, and the rest of Chris’s extended family. He was a tribute to his profession and to Hudson Headwaters.

In 1991 Chris’s quick diagnosis of spinal meningitis saved our 15 year-old son’s life. Chris told me to drive him to GF Hospital because I could get him there faster than an ambulance. John Rugge was in the ICU that day and said he thought we got him there in time because our son recognized him. And I also remember Dr Rugge saying how proud he was of Chris. Many years later I saw Chris at Wiawaka, and told him how grateful we were to him, not really expecting him to remember. But he said he remembered it well.
I’m very sorry for your loss. Chris made a big difference in our life, and I’m sure in many others.
