John was born in Mahopac, NY, the son of Elmer Gardinier and Alvina (Deinhardt). Here he lived most of this life there until retiring in 2000. At that time, he moved to Minerva, NY. He loved the outdoors, especially the Adirondacks for their beauty and many things to do. He particularly enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

Whenever he met anyone about town, he was always eager to make conversation or lend a hand to friends and neighbors. He worked at many jobs in his life until he retired from IBM Facilities as an Operating Engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia, their three sons; David Sr., John Jr., and Brian, their wives and several grandchildren. John will be missed by many. His remains will be put to rest in Union Valley Cemetery in Mahopac, NY at a later date.
