Obituary of Goldie E. Hitchcock

Warrensburg:
Goldie E. Hitchcock, 100, formerly of River Street, passed away, peacefully, Monday, November 10, 2008 at the Westmount Health Facility in Queensbury.
Born December 3, 1907 in Johnsburg, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Etta (Barney) Hitchcock.
Goldie resided in Warrensburg for over 65 years. She was a waitress at Ashe’s Hotel for 38 years before retiring in 1972.
She was a longtime faithful member of the Warrensburg First United Methodist Church, the former Hackensack Rebekah Lodge and the Glens Falls Hospital Guild.
Goldie is predeceased by her sister, Gladys Westcott, who passed away in 1955.
She is survived by her two nieces, Barbara Russell of Johnsburg and Virginia Armstrong of Wevertown; five great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 pm Wednesday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg with the Rev. Dawn Robbins, Pastor of the Warrensburg First United Methodist Church officiating.
Goldie will be laid to rest in Hack Cemetery, Johnsburg.
At her request, there are no calling hours scheduled.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Johnsburg or Warrensburg United Methodist Churches.
Her family expresses warm thanks to the staff at Westmount Health facility for the care and compassion shown to Goldie.
