Obituary of Edgar L. Ingraham

Lake George: Edgar L. Ingraham, 85, formerly of Lake George, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord, Friday, February 10, 2006 at the Glens Falls Hospital. Born October 1, 1920 in Warrensburg, he was the son of the late Nathan and Bertha (King) Ingraham. Edgar was a lifelong resident of the area. He served in the US Army-Air Corp. in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during WW II and was honorable discharged with the rank of Corporal. He returned home and worked for the US Postal Service as a rural route driver. He went on to drive log truck for Malcolm Monroe for 30 years before retiring in 1982. Edgar continued to work at the Monroe State Park following his retirement. Besides spending time with his family and grandchildren, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping in Vermont. His wife of 8 years, Elsie (Moon) Ingraham; three brothers, Roscoe, Gilbert and Basil; two sisters, Frances Richards, Julia Higgins; grandson, Stephen Ingraham; great- granddaughter, Taylor Castro; and niece, Carlene Colson have all predeceased him. Survivors include, his four children, Marsha Green and her husband, Clayton of Saratoga Springs, Tena Campney and her husband, Barry of Ft. Edward, Steven Ingraham and his wife, Sadria of Argyle, Bonnie Cameron and her husband, Sean of Thurman; two sisters, Lena Squires of North Creek, Helen Colson and her husband, Carl of Corinth; one brother, Alfred Ingraham of Thurman; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call from 6-9 pm Monday evening at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Funeral services will be conducted 11 am Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bob Herrmann, pastor of the Thurman Baptist Church officiating. Spring burial will take place in Warrensburg Cemetery.
