Esther Allison, 100, formerly of Bird Pond Road, passed away, Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at the Adirondack Tri-County Health and Rehabilitation Center in North Creek.
Born February 5, 1907 in Delevan, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Alice (Fuller) Brownell.
Esther was a graduate of the Delevan High School and also from Fredonia Normal School. She taught music in the Lowville area schools for several years in the 1930’s.
She married L. Paul Allison on August 27, 1939. For the next 30 years, the couple resided in Hartsdale, where she was an active member and choir director in the St. Paul’s Methodist Church. Following her husband’s retirement, they moved to Northville in 1969 and then to North Creek in 1987 to be closer to their grandchildren.
Esther was an active member of the North Creek United Methodist Church and the 70 plus ski club enjoying the sport well into her 90’s. She imparted the love of skiing and the outdoors to her children and grandchildren.
Her husband, Paul passed away on July 20, 1997 after 58 years of marriage. Her sister, Frances Reinbold also predeceased her.
Survivors include her son, Samuel Allison and his wife, Susan of North Creek; her daughter, Patricia Allison of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; her four beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth and Paul Allison, Eric Busch, Allyson Bogert and her husband, William; great granddaughter, Jennifer Bogert.
Esther’s family extends a heart felt thank you to the staff at the Adirondack Tri-County Health and Rehabilitation Center for their care and compassion.
Esther requested that services be private and at her family's convenience. There are no calling hours scheduled.
Internment will take place at the Delevan Cemetery, Delevan.
