Obituary of Barbara L. Cleavland

Bolton Landing:
Barbara L. Cleavland, 88, formerly of Church Hill Rd., passed away, Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the home of her daughter, Genevieve Coulman in the Town of Merrill.
Born in Bolton, she was the daughter of the late Merritt and Letty (Stowell) Bentley.
Barbara was a lifelong resident of the area and had been living with her daughter Genevieve for the last three years.
A few years after graduating from Bolton High School, she married Ralph E. Cleavland on October 18, 1941. The couple raised their family on Church Hill Road in Bolton.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed baking, crocheting and knitting for members of her family. She was a member of the Bolton Landing Assembly of God Church.
Her husband, Ralph passed away on November 13, 1987 after 46 years of marriage. Her son in law, Claude Coulman also predeceased her.
Barbara leaves behind her seven children, Laverna Cleavland of Glens Falls, Tina Granger and her husband, Richard of South Glens Falls, Genevieve Coulman of Merrill, Merritt Cleavland and his wife, Linda of Bolton Landing, Keith Cleavland and his wife, Bonnie of Warrensburg, Fred Cleavland and his wife, Wanda of Bolton Landing, Daryl Cleavland of Warrensburg; 18 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; her sisters, Beatrice Remington of Ticonderoga, Clara Chapman of Norwood, Mary Stark and her husband, Malcolm of Raymondville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Barbara’s family from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 pm Saturday at the Bolton Landing Assembly of God Church, Church Hill Rd with the Rev. Clark “Skip” Hultz, Pastor officiating.
Burial will follow in Bolton Rural Cemetery, Bolton Landing.
Pallbearers will be her four sons, her nephew, Robert Cleavland and her grandson, Chad Cleavland.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Bolton Landing Assembly of God Church or to the Bolton Rescue Squad.
