Diamond Point: Our beloved parents passed away 10 days apart. Jim passed away December 30, 2018 followed by Joan on January 9, 2019.They would have celebrated their 66th Anniversary in April. They retired to their home in Rainbow Beach Association on Lake George. Jim, 87, passed away surrounded by loved ones. Jim was born April 6, 1931 to Benita Bond and Everett Ludwig in Paterson, NJ. He was a veteran of the Naval Reserve where he was a PBY Catalina Flight Engineer. His experience as an engineer and following in both his brother’s footsteps, inspired him to obtain his private pilot’s license. He went on to the VP of Manufacturing of Hawthorne Spring Co. for 50 years. He was a volunteer and Ex-chief with the Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department for 45 years, achieving a lifetime membership in the fire department. He inspired three of his children, a son-in-law, and three grandchildren to volunteer for the Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department. Joan, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Joan was born April 13, 1932 to Servina Tuck (West) and John L Tuck in Littleton, NH. Joan was an accountant for Sears & Roebuck for over 20 years, until her retirement. Joan was a fun loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Joan volunteered for many years as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader in town. She was a talented quilter and cross-stitcher. She loved creating and giving her beautiful quilts to family and friends. Joan was a teacher at heart and created many fun memories for her grandchildren. She created zip lines, scavenger hunts and special birthday cakes. She was given the title of Frolic Supervisor for their beloved cottage Cricket. Joan lived life to the fullest until her diagnosis of Dementia. Jim and Joan had 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Judith Reiter (Raymond), and great-grandson, Sebastian Smith. They are survived by sons James T. Ludwig Jr. (Patricia), John T. Ludwig, daughter, Linda J. Boucher (Joseph), grandchildren, Jason Ludwig, Justin Ludwig (Kristen), Jaclyn Ludwig, Jessica Ludwig, Jennifer Smith, Benjamin Boucher (Rachel), Daniel Boucher, Carolyn McGuire, Benita Reiter, Samantha Reiter, James Reiter, and Dustin Reiter, and great-grandchildren, Amelia Ludwig, Audrey Ludwig, Rebecca Boucher, Rachel Boucher, Aiden Boucher, Elizabeth Seitz, and Abigail Seitz. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am, April 6, 2019 at Bolton Community Church with a reception following at the Conservation Club on Edgecomb Pond.
