Obituary of Robert J. Duffy

Robert J. “Bob” Duffy, 75, formerly of Terrace Avenue, passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 20, 2018 at The Washington Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation following a long illness.
Born October 4, 1942 in Rockville, he was the son of the late Robert B. and Clara (Pobeschein) Duffy.
Following his graduation from Oyster Bay High School, Bob relocated to Warrensburg and began working at Bruce Buick in Queensbury.
He met and married Sharon Miner on April 4, 1972 at the Church of the Messiah in Glens Falls.
He and his father, Robert eventually opened their own Chrysler dealership, Duffy’s Cars in Warrensburg.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his beloved wife of 41 years, Sharon Duffy and brothers-in-law, Alex Weissenberg, David Miner, and Rodney Durkee; sisters-in-law, Judy Breen and Denise Miner.
He is survived by two children, Christine Duffy and her husband, Ken Taylor of Tacoma, WA, and John Duffy of Warrensburg; a sister, Claire Weisenberg of Dix Hills; sister-in-law, Shelley Durkee of Fort Edward; brothers-in-law, Dennis Miner and his wife, Rita of Queensbury and James Barlow of Comstock; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At Bob’s request, there are no calling hours scheduled.
A graveside service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 1 pm, Saturday, October 6, 2018, in Warrensburg Cemetery, Hudson St., Warrensburg.
