North Creek:
Garry A. “Wolfie” Wolfe, 62, of West Holcomb St., passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 16, 1955 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Genevieve (Warrington) Wolfe and the late Billy Wolfe.
As a young man, Garry worked numerous jobs as a logger, as a welder at the Newport News Shipyard with his brother, Bill, and at an oil refinery. He eventually put his many skills learned at a young age to good use and started his own company in 1984, Wolfe’s Well Drilling Co. Over the span of 31 years, he had drilled over 2000 wells in the Adirondacks. He was very proud of his business but even more proud to have his father and two sons, Cody and Dylan working by his side. He was fortunate enough to work with his father for 21 ½ years, and regularly referred to him as his best friend. His favorite memories at work was “playing in the mud” with dad and the boys.
He was an outstanding father and loved his sons unconditionally and a great friend to many.
He is predeceased by his father and best friend, Bill Wolfe.
He is survived by his mother, Genevieve Wolfe; his wife, Sherry Wolfe; his sons, Cody and his companion, Emily, and Dylan and his fiancée, Natalie; his grandson, Marshall Odin Wolfe; his siblings, Bill Wolfe and his wife, Pamela, and Davey Wolfe and his wife, Gina; his love, Susan Bruno, and his aunt Irma Russell and her husband, Rob; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
At Garry’s request, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.
A snowshoe softball tournament including a silent auction, food and fun for all will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018. Please contact Julie Wolfe for more information. Another fundraiser to honor Garry will include a turkey dinner and raffle from 5-7pm Saturday, March 10th at the Bakers Mills Fire House where all proceeds will benefit his family.
