Obituary of David J. Millington

Johnsburg: David James Millington, 66, of South Johnsburg Road, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Glens Falls Hospital, following a brief battle with cancer. Born June 26, 1950 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Alvin and Marion (Younes) Millington. Dave was a jack of all trades, he was the head mechanic at Garvey Volkswagen, he also worked for Walter Ready Mix and Clemente Ready Mix. He married Gretchen L. Leddick on December 5, 1993. In addition to spending time with his grandchildren, Dave enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and woodworking. Besides his parents, Dave is predeceased by a daughter, Tanya Millington. He is survived by his wife, Gretchen Millington of Johnsburg; a son, Norman Millington of Fultonville; two daughters, Reisha and her husband, Frank Thissell, of Johnsburg, and Kathy Templeton and her husband, Andy, of Thurman; grandchildren, Ashley Thissell and her fiancé, Christopher Wilson, John Thissell and his wife, Brooke, Brandon and Emma Feiden, Nolan Templeton, and Edward, John, Catherine, Lilly, Emma, Grace, and Loryn Millington; great-grandsons, Logan and Joseph Thissell; and his favorite dog, Sassie. He also leaves behind a large extended family. At Dave’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral services scheduled. Gretchen will sorely miss her Prince Charming, after having to kiss a lot of frogs along the way.
