Glenn F. Baker, Sr., 79, of Mountain Avenue, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Glens Falls Hospital, following a courageous battle with cancer, with his loving family by his side.
Born April 20, 1938 in Troy, he was the son of the late Victor and Dorothy Baker.
He served in the National Guard and the United States Navy, where he was a cook until his honorable discharge.
In his earlier years, Glenn enjoyed the good times, drinking, and playing horse shoes with his family and friends. Later in life, he could be found sitting on his front porch, visiting with those he loved, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Glenn is predeceased by a twin, who died at birth, his first wife, Caroline Baker, his daughter, Michelle Johnson, a grandson, John R. Morgan, father-in-law, Johann Osso, two brother-in-law’s, John and Albert Osso, along with many other siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Anna Baker of Warrensburg; children, Glenn F. Baker, Jr. of Queensbury, Shawn Baker of Warrensburg, Albert Baker and his companion, Rebekah Richards of Vermont, Heather Baker and her companion, JP Johnson, all of Warrensburg; grandchildren, Bryli Johnson, Caroline Baker, Melissa Baker, Cassandra Baker and her companion, Curtis Hall, Kim Baker, Christina Morgan and her companion, Ken Kennison, Morgan, Ken Morgan, Jr., Gregory Armstrong, and Sasha Cleaveland; great-grandchildren, Jacob Morgan, Xavier Henriquez, Cyrus Hall, Ariana Sullivan, Julianna Baker, Nicholas and Aiden Kennison, and a great-granddaughter on the way. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Kathleen Osso of Warrensburg, and many special friends.
At Glenn’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.
Glenn’s family would like to thank the Warrensburg Emergency Squad, the staff at Glens Falls Hospital on 3 West, and Fort Hudson Home Care, for their care and compassion throughout his illness.
