Bolton Landing: Pat Galea, 78, of Federal Hill Road, passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 24, 2016 at the Washington Center in Argyle, surrounded by her loving family. Born August 12, 1937 in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Eleanor (Finkle) Lee. Following her graduation from Colonie Central High School, she married Raymond F. Kalendek in 1956 in Albany; together the couple had two children, Ray and Michele. In 1969 she married Joseph Anthony Galea of Albany; a year later they relocated to Bolton Landing. She was employed by the Catholic Community Maternity Services in Lake George for many years. Pat was also a dedicated communicant of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Bolton, where she taught religious education. Pat was a vibrant, kind, loving woman, who enjoyed dancing, spending time with her friends and family, animals, and especially bird watching. In addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by her beloved husband of 36 years, Joseph A. Galea. She is survived by her children, Raymond G. Kalendek of Albany, and Michele L. (Kalendek) Schoeller and her husband, Kenneth, of California; step-sons, Joseph A. Galea, Jr. and his wife, Kelly, of Gloversville, Michael A. Galea and his wife, Andrea, of New Hampshire; grandchildren, Nicolaas L. Brouwer III and his wife, Gemma, Tiffany Michele Brouwer, Raymond G. Kalendek, Jr., Ashley R. Kalendek, Elizabeth Kalendek, Shannon E. (Kalendek) Ryan, Elaina Galea, Sarah Galea, Meredith Galea, Christopher Galea, and Caitlin Galea; one great-grandson, Kai Nicolaas Brouwer. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Pat’s family from 4-7 pm, Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Thursday at Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Goodman Avenue, Bolton Landing with Fr. Kenneth Swain, officiating. Burial will be conducted privately in Memory Gardens, Albany. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Pat’s memory to the SPCA of Upstate New York, 588 Queensbury Ave., Queensbury, NY 12804.
